Waugh has impressed since being signed by Powell River. He is going to be a top 10 scorer next year in the BCHL. The Kings caught a good one in Waugh. I also think Forbes who could of played for the North Island team this year is going to be a star in the BCHL. You will probably see the two as linemates next year.
I am not familiar with Richardson. Is he protected by any team in the BCHL or WHL?

Evan has committed to Alberni for next year, he was Swift Currents 1st (15th overall )pick last year in the whl draft, my understanding is Don his dad doesn't want him to sign with SC because of his size just incase he doesn't grow much more as he's pretty small.
he'll be a hell of a player soon, really good with the puck.
another Nanaimo player playing out of town.

for years Billy B overlooked the younger talent in his back yard and believed in reloading with 19 and 20 yr olds every season. That wasn't lost on the young homegrown Nanaimo kids who could to play JrA at 17 and 18 and opted to join other teams. His philosophy has worked well up until the past couple years. There are drawbacks to playing in your own backyard and having your parents in your ear every day.

I would love to see Richardson join Powell River next year so the Kings could string the line of Waugh, Richardson and Forbes together. A 16 year old and two 17 year olds all from Nanaimo. Could you see Billys face now after a game where the line combined together for 12 points in a big win some night. That might just put him into retirement. Regarding the possibility of that line coming together well who knows but if I was Richardson and had two buddies playing huge minutes in Powell River for a contending team that is sending plenty of kids to schollys I would be on that boat getting ready for next year and being part of one of the most productive lines the BCHL will have next year. Despite their ages they could be confident enough togethor two see Waugh and Richardson hit 80 point seasons and Forbes not far behind with 60+

you mean a 16 year old and two eighteen year olds, I know what you mean though. richardson has the best offensive skills of the all of them.

Grizzlies announce they have signed Richardson. Sounds like he could have chosen anywhere he wanted to go including Swift Current, WHL. He seems happy with his decision. Good recruiting by Victoria.
